Hey Y’all!

So many times, people reach out to me when they hear a friend is having to change their diet – gluten free, dairy free, Low Fodmap, other changes – because their life has been impacted by gut health in one way or another. Or if they know something with a heart valve issue and need help deciphering the test results. I wanted to start something easy to share that can benefit people I know, benefit their friends, and be shared with others.

I want to be VERY CLEAR here on several things:

1.       I am not a registered dietitian, I am not a nutritionist, I am not a cardiologist, I have no formal training in medicine or health.

2.       What I do have is personal experience. I was diagnosed as a teenager with a heart valve issue. After having my second child, I started having extreme gut health issues. I’ve seen numerous practitioners. It took years of time, research, and trying various ideas to get my health back. So, in sharing my story, I hope I can help others.

3.       I AM NOT offering official medical advice for you to follow. I may link to doctors giving presentations, but you should always discuss any changes with your own medical team before embarking on a new path for your life.

4.       I do want this offering of my experience and any others I feature to help you understand things you should talk to your medical professionals about, to see if they can help you or your loved ones.

5.       I am utilizing a lot of resources that already exist. I want to help you find these resources and I will always be up front about websites, authors, professionals, and products that have helped me on my journey, citing the sources, linking to the original recipes/information/etc.

6.       As of the creation of Gut, Heart, and Soul, I have not received anything or any service as a paid promotion or for free publicity of a company, product, or professional. I also plan to be very up front with you if that ever changes.

7.       I will go on tangents, unrelated stories, and you will have other “what the heck is going on?” moments, because I am also an undiagnosed neurodiverse being and I am generally an open book with my life. I both apologize and hope you enjoy the ride!

8.       All information shared here represent my opinions and experiences, those of my guest writers, or the respective owners of linked resources. There may be controversial topics addressed, things you do not agree with, or otherwise have issue with. Please know that there is never an intent to cause harm. The purpose is an honest attempt to inform and educate to improve lives.

Thanks for joining me here at Gut, Heart, and Soul!
